Salimah Valiani is an independent researcher of world historical political economy. She has worked with unions and nongovernmental organisations around the world since 2001.

She is the author of Rethinking Unequal Exchange: The global integration of nursing labour markets, and authors’ editor of The Future of Mining in South Africa.
