In memory of women and children killed by men

The brutal rape and murder of Uyinene Mrwetyana left South Africans reeling, but her name is only one in a long list of women and children killed by men.

This is a list of some of the women and children who have lost their lives as a result of gender-based violence in South Africa over the past 30 years. It is not complete. We honour these slain people by remembering their names.
